Schenectady, only minutes away, also offers numerous shopping centers as well as local boutiques in the downtown area.

Parks and Recreation
There is always something to do outside in Niskayuna! Niskayuna is loaded with city parks including Niskayuna Soccer Park, the Niskayuna Recreation Complex, Aqueduct Park, Blatnick Park, and Road River Park, not to mention the parks in nearby Schenectady. These parks have everything from baseball diamonds and tennis courts to lakes and multi-purpose fields. Slightly farther away are a few state parks (including Saratoga Spa, John B. Thacher, and Peebles Island) with hiking trails, beautiful panoramic views of the Mohawk River and surrounding area, and even a mineral bath at Saratoga Spa.
Within Niskayuna, there are several different sites that are on the National Register of Historic Places including George Westinghouse Jones House, the Niskayuna Railroad Station, the Niskayuna Reformed Church, and Rosendale Common School. Each of these has their own unique draw, but all are a must-see for history buffs.

Located just two miles from Niskayuna, the Ellis Hospital in Schenectady provides wonderful health services to the citizens of the area. This hospital is ranks very high for heart attack, heart failure, and pneumonia care. There is also the Hilltop Manor Head Injury Hospital & Nursing Home.
Niskayuna real estate is located near several major roads including I-87, I-90, I-890, Highway 146 and Highway 7. Located just over the Mohawk River is the Schenectady County Airport, which makes traveling outside the area simple.
